After 30 years building a £4.1 billion business, my focus now is inspiring breakthroughs in other entrepreneurs and CEOs.
I’m Richard Harpin. I started HomeServe in 1993 with £50,000 and a simple idea to make home repairs easy for people. Thirty years later, I sold it for £4.1 billion.
Now I devote my time to inspiring breakthroughs in other entrepreneurs and CEOs at an early stage in their journey. I’d like to think my approach to business is grounded and uncomplicated; I certainly hope it’s humane.
My mission now is to help build more billion-pound businesses in the UK. Mid-sized companies are the backbone of our economy, yet too many never reach their full potential.
When founders and CEOs succeed, the country succeeds.
